Join one of our certified guides in the Kananaskis Village, then depart for the trailhead - a short 5minute drive in our personal vehicles. Kovach was a tiny town where the workers and their families from the coal mine once lived. This hike takes you along the trail where horses used to cart the coal, to a stunning viewpoint where the mine scar is visible. Retrace your steps through the forest as you imagine walking home from a long day at the mine to your home in Kovach. After our beautiful hike, we will return to the village where a cold pint of Ghost Town Ale or a Shirley temple awaits you. Bottled water and cookies will be provided on the tour. Youth, child, and non-beer adult tickets include a non-alcoholic drink. This 5 km hike, with 250 m elevation gain is suitable for children 8 years and older. Please schedule 3 hours for this excursion. After our beautiful hike, we will return to the village where a cold pint of Ghost Town Ale or a Shirley temple awaits you.

This is a 3-hour long family survival skills session in a beautiful outdoor 'classroom' in the Canadian Rockies. You will join your guide on a leisurely 5km hike or snowshoe through a beautiful forest. Along the way, learn about the wildlife that calls Kananaskis home. Learn to follow and analyze animal tracks and signs along the trail. Your guide will show you a wide variety of wild edibles along the trail and teach you what to do should you encounter a bear. Learn to start a fire without a lighter, using materials collected on the hike. Feel like one of the original explorers of the wild west as you sip a tea made from local plants and enjoy the views. Each family/cohort will be challenged to build a shelter using basic emergency supplies. Your guide will offer feedback and as a group, you will discuss the best place to build a shelter and what you would look for should you ever need to survive in the backcountry.

Join us in the most beautiful classroom in the world to learn the art of stand-up paddleboarding. This two-hour lesson starts with a dry-land session and then takes you out on Wedge Pond to work on your freshly learned skills. This group lesson is designed for households/cohorts. The group price is for up to 4 participants, a 5th and 6th participant can be added for an additional cost of $50/person.
