Coastal Discovery Museum
The Basics
Start your visit at the Discovery House, the oldest structure on the property, where you’ll find permanent and temporary exhibitions, and an area just for kids. Then, head over to the Supervisor’s House and the two barns, one of which is home to a couple of horses. Finally, take your time wandering the expansive grounds: the boardwalks extending over Jarvis Creek, the Lowcountry heritage garden, the butterfly enclosure, the bog garden with carnivorous plants, and more.
To make the most of your experience, check out the Coastal Discovery Museum’s numerous tours and special programs on offer. They fill up quickly, so be sure to book ahead.
