Housed within the historical Horse Guards, the Household Cavalry Museum offers the public the chance to learn more about this centuries-old regiment. The museum showcases artifacts and objects that date to the 17th century, from uniforms and paintings to musical instruments and furniture. It's a family-friendly museum, and visitors can try on helmets, enjoy interactive displays and audiovisual presentations, watch troopers look after their horses in the working stables, and witness the Changing of the Guard.

Given its central location, Household Cavalry Museum can be reached via numerous forms of transportation. Take the Circle, District, Northern, and Bakerloo lines to Embankment Station; take the Circle, District, and Jubilee lines to Westminster Station; or take above-ground trains to Charing Cross Station. The museum is also served by multiple bus lines, including the 3, 11, 12, 24, 53, 87, 88, 159, and 453. It can easily be reached on foot, by car, or by bicycle.
The Household Cavalry Museum is open daily, with slightly later hours from April to October. The museum is also closed on select dates throughout the year for holidays and ceremonial functions, so check to make sure it's open before you visit.
