Select a departure time to suit your schedule then greet your accomplished guide outside the Palau de la Música Catalana. Hailed as one of the country’s most exquisite examples of Art Nouveau architecture, the pristine Palau de la Música Catalana is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed structure that demands attention.

Sail past the crowds at the entrance hall with your skip-the-line ticket and immediately begin your tour in the remarkable Rehearsal Hall. Watch a captivating clip that provides historical context then feast your eyes upon the elaborate staircases that ascend to the second floor.

Run your hand over lavish marble banisters as you climb the staircase and pass intricately decorated tiles. Gasp at the natural illumination in Lluís Millet Hall and gaze out of the interminable windows that stretch from floor to ceiling. Wander past pillars smothered in delicate mosaics of flowers then become mesmerized by the architectural allure of the Concert Hall, a room considered the structure’s centerpiece.

Marvel at the ecclesiastical panels of stained glass and gape at the dazzling dome that functions as an incandescent skylight. Gain insight into the inspiring architects responsible for the construction of the Palau de la Música Catalana from your guide, hearing tales of Pau Gargallo and Lluís Bru.

Upgrade your tour to include a mini-organ concert in the prestigious musical venue: take a plush seat in the auditorium and delight in the melodies of the organ and the excellent acoustics of the theater.

Bid farewell to your guide at the exit of the building.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Palace of Catalan Music
Choose the departure time most convenient for you, then meet your guide at the Palau de la Música Catalana in La Ribera. One of the most popular concert halls in Barcelona, the UNESCO-listed Palau de la Música Catalana is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau architecture. Head directly inside with your skip-the-line ticket, and begin your guided tour in the Rehearsal Hall of the Orfeó Catala. Learn how the foundation stone was laid here in 1905, and watch a 15-minute clip about the building’s history as well as society in the early 20th century. Next, feast your eyes on the elaborate staircases that lead up to the second floor. Study the lavish tiling that covers the underside, then peer through the unusual glass balusters that support the marble banisters as you ascend the stairs. Find yourself bathed in light as you enter the Lluís Millet Hall, which features floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the balcony colonnade of the main façade. Gaze out at the pillars that are decorated with intricate mosaics depicting flowers in a tribute to nature. Your final stop is the Concert Hall. Be overcome with awe as you step into this magnificent hall. Look around you at the massive panes of stained glass that are set in arches along the walls, then turn your attention to the room’s centerpiece: a large skylight in the shape of an inverted dome. As you tour the auditorium with your guide, learn about the Catalan architects responsible for the décor, including Eusebi Arnau, Pau Gargallo, Lluís Bru and Antoni Rigalt. After around an hour, your tour concludes near the Palau de la Música Catalana’s exit. Photos provided by Matteo Vecchi.

In the balcony in the auditorium and a brief performance on the original organ. And it ISN’T Gaudi The natural light and the 300+ performances a year. And to think, in all my visits to Barcelona, I’ve never been.

Absolutely gorgeous inside and out!! Must see attraction, don’t miss it! Beautiful mosaic ceiling, which works like a light fixture, great sculptures around the main stage. Nice experience, because you will have an opportunity to see a rehearsal with real musicians and also you will see a movie with opera singers, blues singers, who shared their feelings about this place.

The Palau de la Musica Catalana is not to be missed!! It is GORGEOUS and the music sounded AMAZING!! I only wish we had booked in time to hear a full concert. My husband, not a music lover, thought this was the best tour we did all week long and we participated in a number of fabulous tours. Definitely book this tour!

the museum itself is beautiful!!! and the tour was informative and chill. The one thing I would change is this: there were simultaneous tours going on at the same time, and with the same beginning/middle/end in the same rooms, in other languages, so it was hard to hear/concentrate on what the tour guide was saying when there was also an italian and a japanese tour in the same rooms. I think it would have been relatively easy to begin/end in different places so that the entire thing was not overlapping.
