This is one of the best, most informative tours we have ever taken. If you are interested in really learning about The Troubles from people who have experienced them first hand, this is the trip for you. The fact that it's only your small group in a cab just adds to the experience.

If you do one tour in Belfast, do this one!

An amazing experience and highly recommended. Mark York us round the Shankill Rd and his first hand account of his fight for his cause and the impact on his family was emotional and hard hitting. Gérard took us round Falls Rd and his account of his time in the IRA and in the Maze prison was brilliantly narrated and so interesting- he is now a community activist working with ex soldiers and youths. I had no idea the Peace in West Belfast was so fragile and that they still are totally segregated. To hear both sides of the story was really powerful and we could empathise with both causes.

A novel approach which I fully recommend. Getting both sides of the conflict explained by people who lived through it, is the best way for an outsider to get an idea of The Troubles.

1st thing we did on getting to Belfast and was extremely interesting and informative and set a tone for us to examine a bit more beneath the surface of the tourist presentations in the city fascinating and thought provoking loved it

I LOVED this tour! Amazingly knowledgable leaders (Gerry and Mark) who both participated in and learned from this conflict. Not only did I learn so much about the history leading to the conflict, but I was also able gain some insight into how this affected people as individuals. This is an invaluable experience. I recommend this tour wholeheartedly.

Very interesting to listen to the two different sides by people that has really been involved. It was really political view and not only about religion. A lot of questions pops up when you have listened to them. How long will it stay as now? The wall closes 19 and opens 7. Is it good or bad? I really recommend this tour

We enjoyed our 3-hour walking tour in Belfast. We learned a great deal about the conflict in Belfast. Be prepared with proper clothing for cold and rain. It was worth it!

This tour was very informative. You really need to be able to walk for 3 hours at a quick pace. The Republican tour guide was better than the Loyalist. You could tell from the Loyalist that they are not ready to forgive and move on. You could definitely feel the tension. If you can't do the walk due to health issues, I'd suggest the Black Taxi tour.
