Not worth the money

Four stops were closed. Waited for 3 trolleys at 1:30 in the afternoon. Couldn’t wait to get off for good. The first driver was fun, the second one thought he was doing a comedy shie.

Would NOT recommend the trolley service

The fact that there was no availability to get a trolley at stops. Long lines and waiting as trolley after trolley would pass us at a stop. Hearing the driver call in code yellow to the dispatcher for a trolley pick up and STILL WAITING and no trolley availability. We spent 100$ and rode the trolley 1 time for 2 stops and we’re taking back to headquarters and were told we needed to get off and wait approximately 30 minutes for next available trolley to fill up. After such time we rode a trolley 4 stops passing people waiting for trolleys and we never got a trolley available again all this was by 1:30pm. In my opinion it’s poorly run we we’re disappointed. I will not comment on the customer service at headquarters in detail but it was not customer friendly AT ALL. We loved Boston and saw the sights by foot. Unfortunately, we wasted 100$.

Long waits for 4 seats available on a bus

Good way to see the city but due to the extremely high volume of passengers & traffic on Thursday 8/11/22 we only got off to visit 2 of the 15 sites & o my got to ride for about 7 sites in total all day as we were “stuck” waiting for a trolley w/ 4 seats available!! My family of 4 waited for 3 busses at 2 separate locations (USS Constitution & Quincy Market) before we could hop back on to continue the tour. Pretty disappointed as we didn’t see half of what we wanted to see.

Not worth the money

We paid $100 and watched people get on every stop with no tickets. They were told it ok to order on line and show it to person at stop one. They got off at last stop and never paid. It happened over and over We were with 3 drivers. One talked 85% of the time about road work…one kept telling people to hush because he was talking….one reminded us several times about tips!

Don’t over look this one

Was not sure on this one at first. We got on with a conductor named Rocky. She was AMAZING! She was upbeat, energetic, gave jokes, good driver, answered questions, and knew the information on the town. We were so impressed we stayed on the trolley for the whole 2 hours. We learned so much it was awesome. We did get on the next day and though the guy was nice he was not as good. Because of rocky we knew where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see. Would do this again and highly recommend it to anyone coming to Boston for the first time.

Nice way to see the city

The trolleys are really nice and you get a lot of information but a lot of stops are not historical. They will also close stops so you won’t be able to get on/off at all of them. There can also be significant traffic which make the ride longer and a bit boring.

Maureen was an excellent tour guide. Even when it rained, she kept her cool, got us dry, and continued the educational tour of Boston!

Hot day in Boston
John_V
, Aug 2022
It was a hot day in Boston. Not sure how they decide how many passes to sell for a single day. We had to wait at some of the stops for the next bus - which was taking 15 to 20 minutes in the extreme heat. There was no order at the bus stop and unless you were on top of it, other people just pushed past you onto the bus! Maybe the drivers could give some instructions like "please form a line near the light pole just up from the sign.."

There are interesting stops. We were quite disappointed that there was no air conditioning on the trolley and it was 98 degrees outside!! Some drivers were more engaging than others.

Bus was way too hot. Bus driver gave us wrong information so we walked to the old north church to go inside only to find out it was closed. In 90+ heat and humidity with kids it was a huge frustration.

We did not have a good guide for most of our ride she wanted to talk about herself and tell personal stories more than speak of the area. We also had to wait at the stops on buses they seemed pretty far apart
