Great Scotland experience.

Brian was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. This is a long tour, almost 13 hours. I’ve done long tours before and was exhausted afterward. Brian kept us entertained the whole time and provided awesome stories and history. He was Scotland. The highlands were awesome, Glencoe was beautiful, Loch Ness was so worth it. I skipped the boat tour in Loch Ness and opted for a drink on the shore of the lake which was very relaxing. I never felt rushed. I would totally recommend this trip with Hairy Coo! Best tour company ever!

It was a great tour and didn’t feel like the long day that it was. Rose was an amazing story teller and I felt like I learned a lot! Be prepared for any weather conditions but of course it’s Scotland so rain is to be expected. Thank you for a great day Hairy Coo Tours!
Fantastic trip worth trying 😆

Great value for the day trip, highly recommended! The guide was very friendly and funny, able to explain the history of Scotland through the key stops in Loch Ness and more. He also answered any questions we had and dealt with any issues. We had plenty of time for breaks, food and places to take photos in between. Overall, we just had so much fun exploring the highlands…
Best Tour EVER!

This was hands down the best tour we’ve ever been on! Our guide, Scott, was informative and funny. The whole tour was well planned and orchestrated. SO worth the money.

This was the most beautiful of Scottish highlands. Glencoe is like heaven on earth! Our driver Steve, was so informative and kept us entertained for the long trip up and back. Perfect stops.
The perfect tour if you have one chance to see outside of Edinburgh!

Our tour guide, Brian, was fantastic. He was a one man band sharing incredible stories of the history of Scotland and current events, bringing humor and energy the whole day all the while driving the bus on narrow roads and expertly navigating a 12 hour driving day. He had us singing along with him to all sorts of top-hits Scottish songs.
Brian was an incredible story teller, inserting stories during some of the longer driving stretches, but also giving some quiet space or time to just listen to Scottish tunes (not many included bag pipes, for those of you nervous about that :). He soundtracks were scheduled just perfect for what we were seeing at the moment. The 12 hour day truly did not feel long or boring at all with the well time stories, breaks, views, etc.
For being the only trip we took outside of Edinburgh during our week in Scotland, it was well worth it! We saw a TON in only 12 hours. Both seeing things from inside the bus driving by and seeing views/sites as we took a pause/break every 60-90minutes or so, it really gave us a good insight into other parts of Scotland.
A couple of tips are be sure to go to the FAQ's page for your tour company, (for us the Hairy Coo) to make sure you're prepared for the details of the trip, such as needing to pay in cash for the boat ride at Loch Ness, not having a bathroom on board, not having food provided but knowing there would be food available for purchase at some stops, etc.
For us having a celiac food allergy, we planned ahead and packed our own sandwiches and snacks as we didn't know if our stops would have anything that would be gluten free, and we're glad we planned ahead as there wasn't tons of GF options at some of the stops. So rather than spending time trying to find food that we could consume, we were able to just enjoy the sights and browse other shops.
I would say it was well worth the money. I would 100% recommend this tour to others that would go on it! If you only have one day available to explore outside of Edinburgh, it was the perfect one to go on.
Excellent tour with a most knowledgeable guide

Ryan was an outstanding tour guide with an incredible knowledge of the complex history of Scotland. The sights were beautiful and impressive, and while it is a long and intense day of traveling, the scenery makes everything worthwhile. The boat tour of Loch Ness was also not to be missed.
Hairy Coos and Nessy!

Amazing and Beautiful! Scott, our guide from Scotland, was funny and very entertaining. A bus full of people singing "500 miles" with smiled on their faces is all you need to know.
Fantastic tour!

It was my first time in Scotland and I was solo travelling and this tour is a definite must if you're in the same boat. Our tour guide Ryan was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, funny and friendly. We saw a lot of different locations during the day and we had plenty of opportunities to get food and use the rest room. The views were fantastic especially the mountains and loch. I would recommend this tour. I would say you'll need a good night rest or a coffee as it is a full day but you don't have to do too much walking if that's a concern.
Fun, memorable Scotland adventure

We had an awesome adventure seeing Scotland’s Highlands and Loch Ness. Our tour guide/driver was Brian and he made the trip so fun and memorable! Lots of story telling and history, sing-a-longs, jokes, and beautiful scenery. Would definitely book again with Hairy Coo
Highlands are a must. Bring motion sickness tablets.

Rose from The Hairy Coo was amazing. She’s a story teller and I found her doing an amazing job telling us not only facts and history about some of the sites we were seeing but also some great folklore stories and fairytale stories specific to Scotland. As for the tour itself, it is a bus going up very curvy roads. I did 2 tours back to back with two different travel companies. The Hairy Coo is a smaller bus (less people), the windows aren’t tinted which is great for taking pictures through the bus window as the scenes are AMAZING the entire drive, but also so you don’t feel so claustrophobic. If you get carsick I would HIGHLY recommend bringing motion sickness tablets. Every other tour company that I saw has the traditional huge bus with tinted windows, so this sets them apart from the other tour groups. They made a stop approximately every 2 hours for bathroom, that were about 20 minutes long and then a longer stop about an hour for lunch and then 2 hours at Loch Ness. I personally would recommend bringing a lunch that way you can enjoy the small towns. I also think it’s important to note that you are not the only bus coming to this small town. Take you and everyone on your bus and multiply it by like 5. So if there is something you really want to do (such as the bathroom) do it first otherwise you’ll make the entire bus late. I honestly loved this tour so much and it is a must do. You can’t just stay in the city the entire time. Scotland has SO much to see. It’s not just flat greenery. The highlands are an absolute must.
Fantastic Bus Tour of the Highlands

This tour was amazing! Scott was our guide and he was absolutely incredible and hilarious (make sure you save his Scottish Spotify playlist after the tour). Loved the stop at Glencoe, sloppy kisses from Hamish the hairy coo, and the boat ride on Loch Ness, even though Loch Lochy is the best Loch (that’s a Scott-ism, he has a lot). He made spending that much time in a bus totally enjoyable the whole time. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Although we were told it was a 12 hour trip , we were slightly delayed and it made for a very long day. Rose was a very knowledgeable entertaining tour guide who really imparted her love of Scotland thru her explanations and stories . She had a lot of responsibility both driving and reciting the stories. I would suggest both a driver and a guide
