Our guide Gene was a perfect host. He gave us unlimited options to stay as long as we wanted at each of the 8 different stops he took us to. Gene had lots of historical knowledge coupled with his own perspective of the region and the people. He answered every question thoughtfully and with enthusiasm. He is the consummate guide. Visiting Urquhart castle on Loch Ness was thrilling. The battlefield at Culloden is a moving experience. Cawdor Castle is beautifully maintained and has a proper maze garden to try. Every stop was interesting. Gene added an unexpected visit to a priory ruin in a little town where the oldest tree in Europe is found in an old cemetery! We would happily recommend this tour to everyone.

Johnny was great! He was so knowledgeable, genuine, and he shared good stories about the area that only a true resident would know. We never had any problems getting in and out of places because he has a good relationship with people at every place you enter. He knew the best places to park to see certain landmarks that tour groups weren’t around. We had a mobility challenged person with us, and Johnny was very accommodating. He parked as close as he could to attractions and allowed the person to hold onto his arm for stability. I would tell anyone coming to this area that this adventure was well worth the money. Billy, our tour guide, was incredible. Very accommodating, letting us explore all the locations at our own pace while suggesting the best things to see and sharing his own perspectives. Learning that we didn't have time for a proper whisky tasting event during our rather short trip to Inverness, he made a few calls to his friends, booked us to an amazing whisky experience with tasting, history and live music for the same night, and drove us right there too. That whisky event was another highlight of our visit to Inverness. Thank you Billy!

Johnie was our guide and he was both knowledgeable and accommodating. We really enjoyed our day with him and learning bits of Scottish history that we wouldn’t have otherwise known without his knowledge of the area.

We had an excellent time with Iqbal. He had a lot of history to share, managed time well, and was flexible to accommodate our interests. We went to the main highlighted places, could take all in without being hurried. The MB minivan vehicle could accommodate 7 comfortably, although we were four. Clean, functional and high for better viewing. Had water and snacks to offer. Had good recommendations for food off the beaten paths and other helpful tips. Recommend whole heartedly.

Johnnie was AMAZING! He picked us up at the port and spent all day with us, getting us back to the ship just before it left (exactly the way we wanted it, we wanted to spend as much time in Inverness as we could). He customized our trip to go anywhere we wanted, even back roads where we could get pictures of things that mattered to us. I mentioned I loved sheep and took pictures of some in the distance - he veered off to a neighboring farm and I found myself just on the other side of the fence of some. I’m a huge Outlanders fan, so he made sure to show us the Frazier castle. He was so knowledgeable about history & culture, and we learned so much from him. He was also a great photographer and took pictures of our family wherever we wanted. He had maps of the country, the crests, and even the plaids for each clan. I wanted to see the ruins of Urquhart castle but I was nervous of my physical ability to because I’ve had a hip replacement and I didn’t think I could be fast enough with the steep slope to get down there and back since it was our last stop. He talked me into it and got me a scooter so I could ride down & back. He was so kind! This was our favorite tour by far!! I don’t think we’ll ever book another excursion through a cruise line again…a private tour is the ONLY way to go! We cannot recommend this enough! DO IT!!! You will NOT regret it!

This was a refreshing, relaxing, and engaging tour. Mike makes it look easy, but he balances the itinerary with the passengers and the conditions. He's spent his life in the hospitality industry, and it shows. He turned a quick lunch stop into a memorable picnic. He's also a good person, very helpful and kind.

Mike was an amazing guide. So thoughtful and knowledgeable. We went at a totally relaxed pace yet were able to see everything. I am so glad that we booked this tour. It truely made our trip to Inverness the best!!!

Excellent experience! Our tour guide, Gene, was filled with knowledge from start to finish. We were on a time crunch with our cruise and only ported for the day. Was picked up at the port and dropped off at the same location with Gene watching the clock for us the whole time. We easily managed to see 2-3x the number of sites the ship excursions offered. Would recommend!
