    I think the best way to cover all the bases at Versailles is definitely with a bike tour. We toured Versailles on a very hot day (97 degrees) but the bike ride made it feel way cooler. We had a picnic by the water canal and the breeze made it so peaceful. Our tour guide showed us around and at the end we were dropped off by the entrance of the palace for a self-tour.

    David was an excellent guide…he made the tour very enjoyable. The combination of walking and cycling was great and a side trip to the market for a picnic lunch was delightful. We are both in our mid 70s and pretty active so we enjoyed the pace. Gardens of the palace are gorgeous.We definately recommend!

    Had an excellent day with our guide David. My husband and i were in a group of 10 in total. David set a reasonable pace so everyone could cycle comfortably including the two young kids in the party. Bikes were easy to use. Robust. And saddles were surprisingly comfortable for two ple who haven’t cycled for several years!! Really enjoyed the insights and info imparted. Really enjoyed going to the market to pre purchase our lunches. Perhaps i would have liked better info in advance about the detail of the day - we spent quite a lot of time on train, picking up bikes, walking around markets etc before actually getting to Versailles. Not a big deal, because it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. Would definitely recommend this tour and this operator to others. I think I would probably return to Versailles if possible tho - so much to see and not enough time really to explore it all!

    The rides through the tree-lined alley roads in the grounds of Versailles estate and the picnic by the Grand Canal with a direct view of the Chateau were the best parts of the tour for me.

    It was a fantastic tour by Joshua. It was my second time to Versailles and THIS is the way to do it. He was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. The timing of everything, the sites we saw and the picnic lunch were outstanding. My whole family enjoyed it ages 21, 17 and two parents.

    This is a fantastic tour! Well organised and Rachel was a great guide being fun and engaging and the tour moved at a good pace. The picnic lunch was a great add on as well as seeing parts of Versailles that most people don’t get to. Well worth it and got back to Paris with ease.

    A great time spent seeing Versailles from a different angle. Using a bike to traverse the vast chateau to see the petit Trianon and grand Trianon and part of the gardens was such a treat. Our guide Marley was excellent with great historical information and very warm & friendly. Really made our day special.

    Joshua was an amazing guide, he went through all the history of Versailles Palace, and was right on point with timing, all while engaging and making everyone laugh throughout the tour! Biking through was the easiest, most efficient, and most enjoyable way to see all of the Palace in a day. I HIGHLY recommend booking this tour, it was one of the best parts of our trip!

    The meet-up at the cafe was easy, our guide walked us to the Metro and rode with us to Versailles. There was a quick ride to the local market halls to pick up picnic food and then a bike tour of the fountains and gardens as well as the Trianon, Petit Trianon, and the Queen’s fake peasant village. We had a picnic and then back to the Chateau for a self-guided tour so we could all go at our own pace. What really made our visit exceptional was our tour guide Joshua. His knowledge of French history and the context of the development of Versailles and the French Revolution was extraordinary, and his witty insights and perspective made the visit entertaining and educational.

    Great bike tour to Versailles from Paris!

    We had a marvelous time thanks in large part to our guide, Marley, who met us in Paris and rode with us to Versailles on the train. After we got our bikes in Versailles, our first stop at a local market was very helpful for folks who did not have gloves as it was very cold. Then once in the HUGE gardens, it became very apparent that riding a bike was the best and most fun way to get around. Marley was a very experienced guide and did a wonderful job keeping our group of 13 people safe and together. We enjoyed listening to the information she provided and many incidental stories about being an American living in Paris. After riding through the gardens, we visited the Château Versailles on our own using the ticket Marley gave us. The free audio headsets provided by the entrance were helpful. By the time we headed back to Paris on the train, we were amaed how fast 8+ hours had flown by. We highly recommend this tour for folks who are comfortable riding a bike and would like to see key parts of both the Versailles gardens and the Château Versailles.

    My husband and I did this tour together and we enjoyed every minute of it! Josh was a wonderful tour guide – he was so knowledgeable and friendly that he made it a truly enjoyable experience. We felt like it had just the right mix of bicycling and walking, and we enjoyed getting to see so much of the grounds of Versailles. We also loved going to the outdoor market in the morning and having the picnic lunch on the banks of the grand Canal – a beautiful experience all around. We met friendly people from different places and that was just an added bonus. We also like to meeting at the coffee shop in the morning which was not too far from our hotel and that made the entire experience so much easier – we aren’t that familiar with the metro system here, so having our tickets purchased for us and a guide bringing us to the trains was extremely helpful. We also lucked out by having a beautiful, sunny, 70° day in mid October – couldn’t have asked for anything more!

    I would not recommend. You spend most of the day off of the bikes and are really only on them to commute from one side of the estate to the other. It’s also very inefficient. Large amounts of time spent chaining the bikes each time you get on and off. The biggest inconvenience was after lunch you have to leave Versailles and pedal back into the city to return your bike. ONLY once returned can you actually go into the palace of Versailles. By that time it was already 3:30pm and to top it off your tour guide doesn’t even accompany into the actual palace. Please don’t waste your money.

    This tour was so much fun. Our guide, Dan, was very fun, knowledgeable and organized. I would definitely recommend this tour it was the highlight of my trip to Paris. I almost cancelled Bc I got lazy a few days before, but I’m really glad I went. I would definitely do this tour again next time I’m back in France.

    Our tour guide, Josh and his shadow, Charlie, were wonderful. They were both from England and were engaging an knowledgeable. They took care to keep us hydrated as it was a record setting day for heat in Paris and the surrounding areas. They shared that, by law, restaurants have to fill your water bottle on request and showed us where the refill stations were throughout our trip. They gave us the scoop on where to buy our picnic supplies. The metro trip over was quick - the information interesting and the scenery lovely. We never felt rushed. Ten out of ten recommend.
